Aaahh that 's much clearer, Mr R Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
I suppose it all depends where you are at any particular time. I never had problems in Turkey, Indonesia, Thailand or China but then you can be in the wrong place at the wrong time in any country really.
The top 20 seem like nice places to live but then the grass is always greener.

Well, I recommend that you watch your back from some of your colleagues in work, rather than thinking of your personal safety in the street!!

Mr Bond, there are so many knives in my back... you could use me as a step ladder to paint the ceiling.
It can cut you up, I can tell you.

As much as I generally disliked the nationals where I USED TO work, I found expat "colleagues" to be worse than them. Some people will stop at nothing to "progress" up the ladder.

I left the former employer of where I now work, because a "colleague" was so keen on advancing that he figuratively climbed up on MY shoulders. I don't mind giving someone a hand up. But when you climb up on MY shoulders without asking, but ready to be shrugged off. He has never forgiven me...nor I him...something funny to observe as when he and I meet from time to time, we are ever so pleasant to each other... Laughing Laughing Laughing

So true. So true. I know I've been too 'nice' to my colleagues in the past, and of course I paid the price for it. Would I need a box of figurative daggers if I went to the KSA to work?

Rigel, the nice guy no more
