Does anyone know the measures Vietnam is taking twords swine flu? One friend in China said the Chinese are testing temperatures of people on the airplane, if anyone is hot everyone is quarantined for a week. A friend who recently arrived in S. Korea (job already lined up) was told he couldn't work for 10 days. (personally I think they should be more worried about the nuclear bombs and ballistic missiles being fired off all willy-nilly from their neighbors to the North, but now i'm off topic)
I am coming to Saigon at the end of June and am hoping I won't have to sit in quarantine for a week. |

Getting swine flu might make it hard to get in. Or having the flu when you arrive in VN may make things a bit trickier. Otherwise it should be fine. |

I would think that having swine flu would make it difficult to enter ANY counrty. I am more curious about the precautions the Vietnamese officials are taking on the flight over. As stated before, when flying into China they are taking everyone's temperature on the airplane, if even one person has a fever they quarantine EVERYONE for a week. Has anyone flown into Vietnam recently? Did they do this sort of thing on the flight? |

Viet Nam is doing the same thing. If you arrive with a fever you will be quarantined until your test come back clear.
I went to Columbia Asian two weeks ago feeling sick (without a fever) and was detained for over 12 hours. I won't bother you with the details but it was a mess. |

A preventive measure for colds and flu is to keep your immune system healthy. Stop smoking, get plenty of sleep, limit your alcohol consumption. Don't eat sweets.
Eat plenty of garlic and chillis with every meal and make your blood as acidic as possible. A virus hates acidic blood.
And those masks people are wearing, they don't work. A virus will pass right on through them like a fly through a tennis net.
You need an electron microscope just to see a virus. Masks make you feel better but in reality do nothing. |

Since January over 13,000 people have died of regular seasonal flu in the United States alone. On average, 250-500,000 people die form regular seasonal flu worldwide. Why everyone is freaking out about SWINE FLU, who knows? As long as you're not already dying then you'll be fine. |
