Does anyone want to sell me a used car or SUV or know someone who might be interested in selling me a used car or SUV or point me in the direction of a website or other location where I can buy a used car or SUV?

Well, there are used cars markets and auctions in Jeddah , just ask a taxi driver to take you there.
Before you buy your car, take it to a mechanic to check it it, especially check the corrosion in the body and the state of the air-conditioning. Also check the document of the car before you buy.
Do not buy used cars from auctions or directly from a Saudi!

Check the following links:
http://www.expatriates.com/classifieds/jed/forsale/

Go for the Pathfinder, it is one of the strongest cars in the Magic Kingdom.

Bicycle! Bicycle! I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride it where I like.

Too bad you can't get around by bicycle. Sounds like it's too hot and polluted to do this, not to mention crazy drivers.

Aren't there back alleys?

First of all, the options you have listed are vastly different from each other in vehicle style, price, size, and level of luxury/amenities. Corolla and Yukon? Can't be farther from each other! Or Corolla and A6? Anyway, that's your choice.

You have 3 options:

1) Try the following websites:

www.expatriates.com
www.justlanded.com
www.eharaj.com
www.sa-motor.com
www.motors.souq.com

(Don't buy from a Saudi, if possible, unless he is an old respectable executive type... NEVER buy from a young Saudi!!!)

2) Go to the various used car showrooms in Jeddah and look there. That will be more expensive than the first option, but the good thing is the cars will be in excellent condition and will come with a limited warranty. Even the car agancies have their own used cars for sale. Go to Toyota used car showroom on Madinah Road and they have many cars there, and not only Toyotas.

3) Go to the haraj, which is a place where there are 100s of used car dealers in one spot, each one with 10s of cars. You will find all sorts of cars there of all price ranges, and some dealers exclusively sell used cars imported from the US (American and Japanese cars), and those are usually in better condition. The only thing is you will have to be very careful and think and act like an eagle there, as the sellers can and will rip you off if they can, and they can and do sell cars which have been in accidents. The best thing is to go there with someone who can spot cars which have been in accidents, and who knows how to deal with the people there. I have a friend who can take you. He charges SR. 100/hour for his services, from the moment he steps out of his house, till the moment he steps in. He is very good at spotting changes made on cars, which might indicate it was in an accident. I went with him there a couple of times just a few months ago, but I ended up finding a good used car from a private person, and bought it just about a month ago.

Buying a good used car here is very difficult, unlike in the US or Europe.

Good luck!

EDIT: See edit in bold above! (what a stupid mistake to make!!!)

Trap

Thanks for the help. Now let me help you.

I am attempting to locate and buy one of the vehicles from the above list...it was never my intention to buy all the vehicles mentioned in the list or drive them all at the same time.

Happy to oblige!

Let me help you again...

I didn't say or imply you wanted to buy all the cars. I said what I said, and it is obvious what I meant. Let me do an exaggeration to make it clear:

You: I want to buy a car.

Me: Which car?

You: Either a Suzuki or a Jeep Cherokee or a Bentley...

Me: First of all, the options you have listed are vastly different from each other in vehicle style, price, size, and level of luxury/amenities.

Happy to oblige! Cool

Ok, so the point you're trying to make is that a corolla and a yukon are different in size and value. So, now we've cleared away all the confusion, and we've established that a corolla and a yukon are different, remind me again what your point is.

Freddie, you're lucky someone could be bothered to write so much. I didn't see any implication that Trap thought you were buying more than one car.

I thought Trap's post was incredibly helpful.

So ta, I'm keeping the info for a mate going to Saudi soon.

I don't doubt the information could be useful, I'm just trying to get Trap to explain to me why he needed to tell me that a corolla and a yukon are different. Could there be something significant in the comparison that could further benefit people who are looking to buy a used vehicle? Or was he just being a deuche bag?

Anyhow the poor guy's been reduced to monosyllabic grunts, so I guess we'll never find out.

1) Just because you can't understand simple talk (that a kid could) doesn't mean you have to get all defensive, indignant, and downright insulting. (and you showed yourself to be a horribly judgemental and accusatory person [without knowing any facts] in another thread)

2) Learn to spell.

3) Here is some advice you gave someone else in the other thread:

Quote:
My advice to you is to find the nearest gym and pump some iron...skipping gives good tension release too.

(and if your username is any indication of your current state, you should take that advice seriously)

4) Have fun driving your Yukon/Explorer/Expedition/Excursion/Hummer/Tank/18-wheeler.

5) Please don't respond, and even if you do, I am done.
