Hey

Is an FM3 STATE OR SCHOOL SPECIFIC???

In the process of getting on in San Luis Potosi but getting well tired of the place.

If I move to elsewhere do i have to through the same process/costs??

Not paid the 2,000 + pesos yet, so i,m wondering if i should?

Check what the authorization to work says in your FM3. It will say either that you are authorized to work at your particular school (naming the school), or that you are authorized to work en forma independiente.

If it is the former case, you will have to apply for a cambio de empleador. Here is a list of what you need to submit: http://www.inm.gob.mx/index.php?page/PERMANECER_MXICO_CAMBIAR_ACTIVIDAD. You will keep your same FM3, but there will be a new annotation written in the FM3 booklet naming the new school and that you are authorized to work there, and stating that the authorization to work at the previous school is no longer in effect.

According to this page http://www.inm.gob.mx/index.php?page/DerechosconsultaDSMO, the current fee for a change of employer is $2042 (MXN).

As far as I know, there is no such thing as a blanket authorization to work in a particular region (such as a state). It is either for specific employer(s) or independiente.

I had a hard time understanding what you meant but I will take a stab. Why would you expect a school to reimburse you for the cost of your FM3 if you choose to move on?

Which school in SLP? Sounds like Berlitz. Cancel it if you haven't paid and you intend to move on as I doubt they'll pay for it.
