Hi all - next question in the installment

Can anyone suggest one or more of these official services in the city where I might get the requisite translation of my documents?

The (very pleasant) Q and A guy at immigracion suggested any governmental branch where Juicios can be found - pleasant, yet not terribly concrete.

Are there pitfalls to avoid with this step or are all services as good as the others?

Continued thanks.

A translator who is authorized to do official translations is called a perito traductor. You can find them in the yellow pages (Seccin amarilla). You can search here: http://www.seccionamarilla.com.mx/; enter perito traductor in the search box and DF in the location box.

I used a guy named Eduardo Wehner, who lives in Colonia Anzures. I felt like he gave me a reasonable price for the amount of documents he translated (I am a translator.). He does a pretty quick job as well.
His number is 52 03 22 61. Call him to set up an appointment.

To get to his place, get off at metro Sevilla and follow Sevilla through Reforma (passing the Diana), where it changes names to Salamanca, and continue straight until you hit Michelet (you will cross an overpass immediately prior to hitting Michelet). He lives to the right at Michelet No. 12 in a large house.

Good luck, and take an umbrella if you go in the afternoon!

I know I'm a little late but I know of a few people who have used Ahpla Institute for translations....
