What's it like living on 8000 in Beijing with a free place. Could I save 3000 a month and still have fun.

I would think a little low.. but it would allow you (if the apartment was paid for) to look around for additional income .... and with a part time job ... the ability to save that each month and still live a decent life in Beijing .. which has a lot to offer but usually at an expensive price...

Del-Tel was paying that a couple of years ago and also housing ..and the guys who worked there really enjoyed the nightlife but found it hard to finance the lifestyle.. so it really depends on your habits..
