When applying for schools, what is the best way to send your TEFL certificate and college diploma? I would understand having an official transcript from your university sent, but since everything is now electronic, I am a little unsure how to send the docs.
I am positive the answer is a lot more obvious and less complicated than I am making it. Thanks! |

awesome. It seemed too easy but that helped! And for the proof of graduation, you sent a copy of the official transcript and NOT a copy of the diploma correct? I have heard of people sending the copies of the diploma...odd but true. |

I send a copy of the passport, copy of my Trinity cert, and a copy of my uni cert ...along with some references I have with other schools...for people who dont have English as a first language, thats probably too much info already.
PS - Its always worth asking employers for references in writing when you leave them...nice little things to keep for future employers |

This is going to depend a LOT on where you're applying.
Some countries habitually want one thing, others another.
Keep as many scanned documents as possible, and send when required/requested.
But some places do want original copies, or sealed transcripts from your uni...
You just have to find out what they want. But for application purposes, a resume will usually suffice.

I scan my degree and have SEALED copies of my transcripts available. But I've never had to scan my transcripts. |

I agree with Justin--wait and see what the school needs. Now that you know how to do it, make sure only to do it when it's necessary! You asked about applying for schools. I never send extra documentation with my CV/cover letter unless it is specifically requested in the job advertisement. If you overload them with all of your documents, transcripts, passport pages, etc. the first time you make contact with them, you could hurt your chances (you've made it difficult for them with all those attachments).
And again, as Justin said, it depends on where you're going. I've had places ask me for original degrees and transcripts--as in, sent fresh from the uni, seal intact, so PDFs wouldn't suffice. That generally happens during/after the interview, so well after I've sent them my CV.
Just make sure that you have everything scanned into your computer and you also have a way to get originals from your university. And it also helps to get those originals notarized. And then just wait and see what the schools need.

Is there any way that if you send that information (passports/certificates) it can be used for information fraud, and is fraud likely? |

...had to scan my particulars for the initial process, bring originals to the interview, and have to have the originals sent to hell and gone to be "attested" (Notary, State, Federal, UEA Embassy) before being allowed to take the position, but that is for elementary teaching in the UAE...never heard of someone wanting my actual diploma, but, "... when in Rome..." ...very excited, in any case... |
