Hi all. My wife and I teach in Korea and are leaving soon. In September we will go back to the states for a few months and she will do a CELTA course. I am currently completing my MA in Professional Writing. My question, what do you think is more valuable for teaching in Turkey, an MA or the CELTA cert? I could get my CELTA while I'm back in the states, but that means I wouldn't finish my MA until sometime next year. I could just concentrate on my MA and be finished in Dec. but I wouldn't have my CELTA. I'm just looking for what makes me the most employable.
A couple of other facts, my graduate degree is in English/Education. I was a certified teacher in the states but I let my certification lapse. I have TESOL cert. (120 hour course). I taught in the states for one year (middle school language arts) and three years in Korea (elementary public school). Just wondering what might be available for me and what is the best method of applying for jobs as well. I appreciate any info. |

| A 120hr TESOL certificate is pretty much the same as the CELTA, so getting another one would be silly, in my opinion. |

| Your TESOL and degree are enough to teach elementary, high school and universities here. |
