So folks!

What is the current rent in Abu Dhabi or Al-Ain for a 2 bedroom apt? Furnished or not?

Thanks

Don't even go there, girlfren'! Unless, of course, you stick only to Al Ain. If you come to Abu Dhabi, you either come with housing provided or you don't come at all. Allowances, 99.9% of the time are simply not enough!

Well to answer your question - AD, unfurnished, on island, c. Dhs180-200k, a bit less if you are lucky. Allegedly prices are set to drop over the summer but personally I am not holding my breath...

Well, the other day I was talking to someone who landed a contract with Nord Anglia and I learned from him that they are offering 80,000 AED/housing including furniture for Abu Dhabi and 60,000 AED for Al-Ain. Go figure out! He turned down the offer though and he will be heading to Saudi.

^ He's made the right move.

Many private companies just aren't paying the going rate in the UAE.

An 80k housing allowance would mean you'd have to share for sure.
