> Two years teaching contracts (renewable).
> 49 days paid leave.
> Transportation provided to and from work.
> Teaching hours are only a maximum of 12-15 hours/week
> End of service bonus - One month salary per year payable on completion of contract
Requirements:
> Native speakers
> Bachelor degree (preferably English or related)
> 1-2 years experience |

| What's so good to be true about it. The salary is SR11,300 + 10% = SR12,430 = $3,318, fair but nothing to write home about. |

Dear voltaire,
Do you have children? Will the institute pay for their schooling - or much of it?
But I agree - if it's real, it's pretty darn good for someone with a B.A. and only 1-2 years experience (and it doesn't even state that it has to be "overseas experience.")

This kind of reminds me of a "renegotiated offer" that I heard from from this KSA uni:
1. JOB TITLE ���������������.. Language Teacher
2. FACULTY ���������������... English Language Unit.
3. COMPENSATION
3.1 Basic Salary per Hijri month ������ SR 4080.00
6. TERM OF CONTRACT ����������. 1Year Renewable
7. MOBILIZATION DATE����������. Immediately
8. BENEFITS:
8.1 Housing Allowance ���������. SR 17,000.00
8.2 Transportation Allowance �������SR 500.00
8.3 Living Cost Allowance �������� 10 % of the Basic Salary
8.4 Furniture Allowance (Once per Contract)��. 50 % of the Housing Allowance
8.5 Increment �������������. 100 % of the Basic Salary
8.6 Ticketing �������������.. Annual
8.7 Holidays �������������... 60 Calendar days.
8.8 Experience Increment ��������.. SR 350.00 For each year of experience according to the work nature approved by the university and for a maximum of five years after his academic post as Language Teachers.
8.9 Annual Salary Increase �������� SR 350.00
9. AUTHORIZED DEPENDENTS �������.YES

Too many hours, it is out in the sticks, and most importantly - I NEVER APPLIED TO THEM. As I said before, this is the second offer and it is identical to the first. As Ben Stein would say (in his dead pan voice), "Wow - I'm speechless."  |

I did indeed.  (I don't live in Saudi (yet), so perhaps I can be excused?
So do you mean to tell me that the Kingdom with all its pride to be unique and superior borrows the dollar sign as the symbol of its currency?
Don't they have some other symbol for recognition of their currency in international trade? Maybe a cursive R with a scimitar and a jaunty angle running through it?
Hey! That's a good idea. Remember Saudi Central Bank: you saw it here first. I want a .001 percent commission on every every $1,000 SAR printed.
BTW trapezius, about this word 'bolded': shouldn't it be emboldened? Although I admit there doesn't seem to be anything particularly brave about the item...  |
