Hi everyone,
New to the board and have just finished teaching Thailand. Armed with my TEFL certificate I am now ready for a change.
Iwould like to come to China next, actually real soon I hope.
I met a couple of teachers here who tried out China and they said it's not for everyone. So I thought I should try to find something for a short duration first. I was hoping to try maybe GZ/SZ/BJ/Shanghai, yeah like most people I suppose!
I'm thinking the only way of finding such a job (less than 6 month) is direct through the school, but the internet jobs seem to be mainly agencies. Surely there are expat/english newspapers in which schools advertise 'wanted ASAP' positions.

I read a similar post from a few months ago and the answers were..... there are no short jobs in China.
Well, I have just found a great site MEIJOB.COM and there are some advertised. But lots of agencies.
I still think the local papers are a good bet. Are there any? Or better websites. |

you can sometimes find a university job for one term, but that would typically be the second term (feb-jun/jul). usually you'd be a replacement for someone who took off during the first term or right after, either because the school wasn't very good or the teacher just couldn't cut it. otherwise schools normally hire people for a full academic year. |
