Hi Everyone,
I am considering a teaching job in Al Ain, however I am a bit concerned as to the availability of child care services in Al Ain. I will be traveling with my nine year son, so I would like to know if there is dependable child care if needed ,when I attend employment orientation/ meetings? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

There is no such thing as 'child care' in the UAE. You either hire a full time live in maid, or hope like crazy you can get someone reliable from someone who knows someone. Charges for part-time babysitting done by the Philippino are steep. Many of these have sponsorship with locals but are available to 'work' for others. There is also no such thing as after school care. |

Thanks Zoot, this is definitely food for thought as I consider employment in the UAE. |

Yeah, aside from preschool there isn't much. Hired help is usually the answer in Al Ain. |
