I see that posts about the European Centre keep getting deleted. I will take it upon myself to keep adding a replacement whenever this happens. I would appreciate some help in this pursuit if any of guys with an interest can help.
The European centre is an extremely poor employer. It is not a school but a farce so if you are a serious or professional teacher, Avoid.
The company does not care about working conditions for their employees or the rights of employees. It is a third world employer in a third world country. I worked for this company, for a limited time, and found it the most poorly managed company I have ever worked for.
You could be moved at a moments notice to a new city for an unkown period of time, so this prevents the establishment of any normal life(friends, TV, your own room or space) that can be managed in a place such as a Saudi Arabia. The teaching itself is irrelevant and ridiculous but one could tolerate that for a sufficent amount of money.
However:
Payment of monies owed is a tiresome process, usually resulting in a lot of unanswered phone calls and a six month wait for payment.
Phone calls that are answered are meet with rudeness and lies.
There are no holidays although you are told there are. You get a $1500 minus( exorbitant imaginary utility bills) bonus 5 months after completion of a 12 month contract, if, at all.
Working conditions stipulated in the contract are not honoured, sick pay etc.
If there is no work, you are forced to take unpaid leave, which could be up to 2 months with a weeks notice.
Orientation and support from management at the company does not exist and for first timers( all employees are first timers or physcologically unstable), Saudi Arabia and the European centre combine to create a very difficult assignment for a very seasoned ESL campaigner.
There is no in house physcologist to deal with the European centre patients/teachers also.
All accomodation is extremely poor and shared, so new employees should read mental health for dummies before beginning your contract.
In summary; if you meet any of the following criteria apply now to the European centre
1) You are mentally unstable
2) you are desperate for money and have exhausted all other options i.e selling your own organs liver, kidneys etc
3) You have no self respect and are willing to be humiliated on a daily basis
4) You think I'm lying.
5) Your school in Pyongyang, North Korea has just closed
Otherwise
Avoid. |

| Couldn't agree more. Teachers have found the place to be the road to mentally instability which quickly spreads to the rest of your colleagues. It's surprising the place hasn't been shut down yet. STAY AWAY. |

| I think realt puts his case superberbly. Emotionally unequipped to cope with teaching and living in Saudi and bereft of respect for the integrity of his colleagues. It's no wonder he didn't go the distance at EC. He should stay at home and let real teachers do their jobs. |

Mouse 5 did not get a job at the European Centre becasue a nasty vindictive (MOD edit) gave him a bad reference when the British manager rang him up in Jubail. |

Hi Realt or realite [in French] ... sans accent. Your difficult behavior has been noticeable as of late. I very much doubt you're a former teacher. Or a real teacher with 'a degree'.
Check the links to 'out' this fellow.
Best regards,
