				| Hi all, My wife is in the process of being offered a teaching post in Oman. I will be the "accompanying spouse" and as she cannot sponsor me, i believe that I must "border hop" every month to renew my visa.
Any experiences out there about this?
 Please reply urgently.
 Thanks

				| Check out the ROP (Royal Omani Police) site for the latest. www.rop.gov.om

The following Ministry of Information site has some info for you. There is such a thing as a 'family residence' visa.

or try your embassy/consulate or trusted travel agent for info.

				| Wives cannot sponsor husbands unless she has a governemnt contract. Private companies not allowed to do this.
As for visa runs - depends where you will be located as to how easy / expensive they are. Usually British expats don't have a problem, but i have heard (not confirmed, just what i have heard through people who do visa runs) that immigration are getting tougher and questionning people.
