|
|
I saw many posts stating that it is very difficult to get a job without a BA because it is a requirement for a work permit.
I am willing to work in any location in the world (Afica, Asia, Latin America, Middle East, Russia, etc.) I just want to know my options so that I can choose.
I have 3 years of college. Do not tell me to finish because I want to finish after I teach abroad for a year so that I can get an idea if this is what I really want to do with my life. So I am set on finishing my BA later. I will get my CELTA certification and I am from the US. I am also Bilingual (spanish) if that would help in Latin America.
So what countrys will approve a Visa with no BA?
Thank you for your time! |

I know that pay will be less without a degree. But that is not an issue. |

You can get a work visa in Japan with no bachelor's degree, but you have to prove you've had at least 3 years of related work experience.
Perhaps finishing that 3rd year...oh, skip it. |

Sorry, let me be clearer, CHina is possible is SOME provinces and SOME employers who have connections. Legally, you do need a BA and two years experience, that being said, connections are gold in China |

For places without a degree and a TEFL:
Asia: Vietnam and Cambodia
Middle East/Africa: Egypt, Ethiopia
Latin America: Most countries. I don't think so in Chile.
In Mexico you can get a job and a work visa wothout a degree.
Check out the Mexico forum for more info. |

In some parts of China, especially in the more remote provinces and areas is probably where you can find a position. |

Try Indonesia. You can teach here legally without a degree and in some cases without certification. If you work for a good employer (TBI, ILP, EF efc) they will help and even arrange your visas for you.
A CELTA puts you in a stronger position and can command more pay. |

Yes, very true! Indonesia is a great place for that! Also, I believe it is more difficult in Vietnam to get a job without a degree, but thats just my take on it |

You normally need a degree here in Vietnam to get a WP.
Then again most people here seem to teach without one. (except for me) |

Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, I've heard Mexico...
Lots of options.

PS- Bilingual won't hurt for getting work , but will really help for being able to LIVE in the country. |
