Hi,
I'm new to this forum so please be patient with me if I have posted in the wrong area.
I am looking for some advice. My husband is Italian and we are looking at possibly relocating to the Middle east.
He speak obviously Italian also English, French and Arabic fluent in all areas. He has some supply teacher experience when he resided in Italy, though his main employment in the last 20 years has been in management. He is hoping to do a intensive TEFL course in the next month or so.
Could someone advise me of the best way forward, are there any schools in the Middle east which look for Italian, French teachers. I don't mention English as he is not as yet qualified in this area.
I would greatly appreciate your feedback and suggestions.
Thanx

There are a couple of K-12 French curriculum schools in UAE and Qatar, not sure about Oman.
He would have to have a relevant teacher's cert probably to be considered for employment. He would not be considered for EFL at any of the more desireable employers with only a TEFL certificate. |

He sounds like a natural for the tourism industry with his languages and management experience. Why not try the 4-6 star hotels, the tour companies or hook up with an Italian tour operator in Italy and become 'their man in Oman"? There are many Italian tourists in Oman and the numbers are growing. Sounds like a lot of fun! Good luck! Does he scuba dive, have an interest in geology/architecture/history/anthropology/archeology? |

Try checking the website GulfTalent for a variety of job offerings in many areas including teaching... |

Why does he want to go from management to teaching? If loves teaching and wants to switch, more power to him.
But if you are coming to the ME for money, that's a bad decision. He can easily make double or triple in management than with teaching. For management positions in the ME, search google for some of the most popular job search/posting sites used in the ME. |
