Hey everybody... just wondering about the criminal record check which is required to get a visa in Vietnam. Does it have to have an apostille attached to it? I am currently working in Korea and the apostille was needed to make the official document, er.. even more official in order to get a working visa.
Also, my buddy and I will be arriving in Vietnam in around 2 months armed with degrees, TEFL certificates and some experience. Would you guys say it'll be easy enough to get a job while there? And how much do you think we should expect to earn?
Sorry i bet you guys get so many newbie questions like this, but would appreciate any help..... thanks |

An apostille was what was required by the State before the Feds would accept it, if you're from the USA. Vietnam will require one (criminal check) from both your home country and now Korea since you've been there so long. This is also true for VN if you've been here more than 6 months.
As for job placement, Quals go a long way but you might find the pickings slim since the latest influx of new teachers. |

There's always a job....but maybe not where you'd like to be, and under conditions that seem less than fair.
Always a job, though. |
