|
|
Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone out there could help me with some research I am doing.
I'm trying to compile a list of companies that are hiring at the moment for August and September. I already have a bunch on my list but I am trying to be methodical in my job hunt and I don't want to let any opportunities slip through the cracks. Any ideas you much more experienced folks have would be greatly appreciated.
I am looking for an ALT position (but conversation school would also be great) and it MUST be in the osaka or Kyoto area. I don't need an apartment and I have already organised a working holiday visa.
Cheers, |

gaijinpot has many ads for ALT positions. You could also pay 5000 yen and subscribe to altdirectory.net. Others on here may recommend Interac. jobsinjapan will also include the occasional ALT position. W5SS is currently hiring for ALTs in the Kobe area (yes, I know you said Osaka or Kyoto, but Kobe isn't too far away from either) |

You can also sign up for Ohayo Sensei. You can either sign up to get the free email; or for a fee you can subscribe to get the email before many others do. |

You could try registering on the Temp Staff Universal and Pasona web sites. Just a word of caution: when I signed up for Pasona for non-English teaching jobs, the recruiter told me she had none to introduce me to at this time due to the bad economy. |

I can tell you that Temp staff also is getting only a fraction of the number of positions that they had at this time last year. |

I figured as much. I know an American ex-CIR who got his current proofreading/translating gig through Universal last year. I figured it would be harder to score something decent this year with the way the economy is.
I am just happy that Temp Staff Kamei up here in Sendai helped me to secure an ALT position in southern Miyagi! |

Congratulations, cvmurrieta- that must be a relief after Interac backing out on you at the last minute! |

I feel at times with Interac I am in episode of the "Twilight Zone".
I still keep getting calls from the Interac Hiroshima even though Head Office has rejected me. Maybe Hiroshima intends to revolt against the Head Office |

I like this phrase better than the "Twilight Zone" allusion I used. |
