Hi all

I need to get this Subject Access Form done before I leave the UK in 3 weeks. I have looked on my local police website and this doesn't seem to exist, though there does seem to be a PDF for an ACPO form. However, on reading further this seems to be for people moving to the US, Aus or NZ and it costs 35 and certainly NOT the 10 quoted by my school.

Can anyone help??? Confused

Hi,

You need to go to your constabulary headquarters and ask for a subject access request form from the data protection department. They are so popular my lot had them at HQ reception. Take with you two forms of picture ID, ideally passport and driving licence. You can fill the form in there and then, pay 10, and they will post you first a notification they are processing your request, and then the actual document about 3/4 weeks later depending on their 'workload'. You'll probably have to get it forwarded to an address in Vietnam.

Hope that helps,

Boot

Cheers Boot

I ended up ringing Leicesteshire HQ and asking for the form. The woman actually sighed on the end of the phone and said "no one can find that bloody form online."

Gee sorry luvvy. I'll be having my Council Tax back n all!

Anyway, she talked me through the maze that is Leicestershire police website and I finally found it. She quoted me 6 weeks, so I guess it'll be sent on to me.

Is this form an absolute necessity before I can start teaching?? I'm due to arrive in Hanoi end July.

I think it's a requirement for your work visa. I remember reading a bit about this, try the stickies or a search. If that fails you might be as well posting a new topic as the people in the know won't be reading one about UK ACPO Smile
