Hello all,

I spent three and a half years in Mexico City, teaching Business and General English in companies. I came back to the UK recently and am now looking to teach in Spain, due to the Spanish skills I picked up in Mexico. I've found it very hard locating work around Spain that doesn't involve teaching kids and figure that my best bet for company/adult classes is Madrid. I'm wondering if, given my experience and qualifications, I just turned up in Madrid and started handing out my CV, could I probably find work easily enough? When are the best/worst/most competitive times to do this? I presume August is out of the question. And yes, I am EU.

You're right - it's best to be there in person - and August is Holiday Month. Best to plan to get there in early Sept to secure work. You could send your CV around via email in advance, but no-one's going to be really looking at anything before early Sept.
