				| I'm a teacher with 4 years experience teaching in Indonesia. I've had an expression of interest from Kojen. I have never been to Taiwan and have done some internet research but would like some questions answered. 1) Is NT$580/hr a reasonable salary?
 2) How expensive is housing in Taipei?
 3) What do people know about this company?

Any advice or help would be appreciated.
 Thanks.

				| That would put you and me drandreasbrown in the same boat. I have seen some good and bad things about Kojen through Google. The bad stuff I heard was from one of the Taipei schools. I guess like any chain school it depends on where you teach? Any former or current Kojen employees care to shed any light? | |

				| Well, I am a very former employee. I left in 2002, so you can make of this what you will.
I liked it. The work was fine, the people great. I had an issue with one director, which is why I left, but that could happen anywhere. From what I've read about Hess over the last 10 years I think you would be better off with Kojen.

They are a chain school, but they are not a franchise. The company is solely owned by the Ho family, which means there is a bit more consistency between branches. I worked in Kaohsiung and Taipei. Kaohsiung Kojen is more relaxed than Taipei, but that is just a reflection of the south in general.

I was paid 570 NT$ when I started, so if seems wages have not risen in nine years.
