|
|
I know there's been a few threads on this area already, but none appear to have answered what i'm particularly wondering....
I will be doing the CELTA course in August of this year. After i've completed that I will be returning home (to the UK) to carry on working for a bit in my current job. In the meantime I will obviously be looking for teaching jobs...Ideally I would like to teach full-time in the UK to begin with, but i'm not sure that's possible. There doesn't seem to be as much of a market for it here as in the rest of the world (is that a correct observation?) I've read that it is possible to get jobs in FE college, but is a CELTA plus experience required? Or something more....a DELTA, or another type of teaching qualification altogether?
My other option is advertising for private students which I can do on the side of my current work. Again is it the norm that students would request proof of how much experience the teacher has had?
i just want to feel things out a bit really. Whether it's worth investing energy in applying to various places in the UK, or whether I should just head abroad straight away....
Any help is appreciated. |
