A longshot to be sure, but if anyone here knows a lawyer who specializes in disability discrimination/section 504 claims, please let me know. I am in Louisiana.

Quick update. After departing from Louisiana, I got a call from a senior professor there who said that I got bounced because they disliked my "ethnicity." This makes me a smidge grouchy. According to the prof, the dean and another prof discussed on the email how excessively ethnic I am. Since then, I have been trying to get a hold of the emails and been getting the run around. Any ideas for lighting a fire under them?

Contact a lawyer who specializes in racial discrimination (maybe the ACLU or a similar organization). You could also call the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to find out what your rights are in such situations.

How does one go about being 'excessively ethnic?'

I think they're weird (not you, guangho)

You were bounced a year ago and have left Louisiana. What exactly do you expect to do about the situation at this point?

Sounds like they secretly collaborated against you and illegally fired you, but where are you, and are you willing to dredge up the facts in order to get some compensation?

I would also like to know what is meant by excessively ethnic.

Hey guys

Rest assured I had put my year to good use, filing court papers about a month after I got kicked and demanding the emails. Hearing on that end of August. I can do it on my own but would feel better surrounded by a lawyer and a gaggle of reporters.

The prof could have been smoking herb when he said it but then why spend a year fighting me tooth and nail on releasing the emails and signing an affidavit that they gave me everything? Anyhoo, according to Prof, dean and another prof got together on the email and discussed how to can me. Seems again according to prof/informer that they have done this before to the non white/non native/non christian segment of the populace.

Living in the deep south and being openly non-christian would certainly bring trouble your way no matter what your race is.
