I tried to get the answer from the school, but haven't recieved any yet. To speed things up, I would like to know if I need to have the highest degree attested, or all other degrees (BA.MA..) attested as well.

Also, do I need to get some certidicates (such as some teaching award certificate) attested or just notarized in case they need them?

You mean get them not only notarized, but also attested? I had my BA and MA in my home country. It seems that I have to go home to get that done in my home country. It's really a pain.

I also checked the school website, and noticed that they also need 3.5cm x 3.5cm passport photos. However, There is no store(local or online) could do that. I was wondering if regular 2"x2" USA passport photos would work.

newtogolf: You could try doing what I'll be doing. Take digital pictures of yourself with a neutral background and then Photoshop one of them to specification. Then take it to your local photo store that allows print-on-demand and print up all the copies you need. It's much cheaper and, dare I say, more fun.

Between my wife and I, we'll need 24 "passport" photos. The cost for that here would be astronomical.

They have to be old-style passport photos with a WHITE background, as opposed to Oman which requires a BLUE background...

Actually I am just doing that myself by using my refrigirator as the white background.

However, as I said, the local store staff told me that the minimal size of photos they can do is 2"x2" (about 5cm x 5cm), not 3.5cm x 3.5cm.
Can you find local store who could do 3.5?

When we came (2 years ago) they were EXTREMELY particular on size. it had to be their measurements. They would not accept anything different.

we had to go to a photographer and have them custom print our images (we did what another poster suggested, taking our own images with our digital camera, then cropping them until they were the right size then going to the print shop and having them print them.

it ended up being like 40 total images for the 5 of us, and it cost us quite a few yen in tokyo at the time. It was incredibly annoying.

now I did hear about some photobooths in tokyo who would take the images in those sizes. You might have some in your city. who knows...

Personally I found it much easier and cheaper to have the pictures done in country for the ones that they will want after you get there.

the certification has to be attested in the country that the certifying body is in. So if you got your MA in TESL from a university in Australia, it needs to be attested in australia.

Same with marriage licenses and birth certificates (for your kids)
