Hi everybody,
I have now applied to at least 20 agencies and numerous schools in Beijing but still I have not received neither an offer nor an answer.
I am a German and English native, have studied both languages at university but obviously competition seems to be so tough that atm there is nothing available ?!
I am coming to Beijing next week so if there was anyone out here that could get me into some place I would be really grateful!
Unfortunately I can't write any private messages so maybe you could just write to my email adress.
[email protected]
Thanks in advance guys,
Cheers

unless there's a reason you HAVE to be in Beijing, look further afield. There's a thousand other cities in China where there are jobs. |

As in the teaching scene in just about any country out there, the more geographically mobile you are, the better your prospects of landing a job. |

Agreed .. I had a similar thing last year of 'I must continue to be in Shanghai' and no doubt applied across the board for jobs. Couldn't get anything decent. Granted, it's a narrow market of what I'm looking for (math, physics teaching in English to offshore certified schools for PRC nationals) and I could have either looked harder or gone into straight EFL teaching, but still, the search didn't pan out much.
In the end I went for another city. Being mobile does help for job prospects, at the same time, it's always a good idea to check out the city you're going to firsthand, and spend some time there on the ground before teaching. Whether it's Beijing or another city.

checking out the city, or location where you'll work first and before you sign into an agreement with some employer, is so much better. also, seeing/talking to the prospective employer is a lot better first too.
your heading seems to be indicating "your pockets are empty" and so you need the job quickly, but don't shoot me for my assumption up front here.
cheers and beers to our job research that's also not as easy sometimes |
