What are some good language schools in So Paulo that someone with a DELTA or MATesol would consider working at? What kind of pay scale are you looking at in So Paulo, for someone with some sort of advanced qualification who is working at a good school?
I know Cultura Inglesa is known nationally, but what other So Paulo specific schools do you know of?

Basically all (including Cultura Inglesa) the language schools in Brazil dont pay very much. You could survive for sure but for someone with an MA TESOL and/or DELTA - Id say a language school is not a good place to make decent money.

The money in Brazil teaching English (as in many parts of the world) is with working in the corporate market.

If you can land some sort of management type position, plus have your carteira assinada with all the associated benefits, I think it might be worth it, assuming of course you are in a good language institute where you can develop professionally (hard to find in Brazil, of course).

When you say working with the corporate market, do you mean freelancing? Freelancing has its own perils ie. cancellation, no benefits etc. Yes you earn a lot more but unless you are essentially operating your own school it might not be enough to even out the loss of benefits and the somewhat unpredictable nature of freelancing. Plus you are working on your own so contact with colleagues and academics would probably be reduced. Maybe you are right about So Paulo though. I think it would depend on how organized your work with the corporate market is.

Is Cultura Inglesa the closest thing to International House in Brazil, or are there better language schools in So Paulo?
