Many thanks in advance.

Are you kidding? Why? Is IELTS free for candidates? In Australia, we get AUD$55/hour (about 33 pounds) and I thought that was low and your currency whips ours. Someone must be making a huge profit over there. |

That's 10 pound a candidate= 3 candidates an hour = 30 pounds
About the same worldwide, It's the BC that make the money here
Nice little earner for them.
Don't know about the UK though.

Oh, OK. I interpreted 'a pop' as an hour not per candidate. It's still low pay but not nearly as bad as I thought. It's a pretty high-skill level job which not everyone could do. It should be paid more (here too). |

Strangely in the UK there are native-speaker candidates doing IELTS to increase their points for immigration to Canada/NZ/Australia. Since many of them are "Sun"-readers you can imagine that the results are not always startling ! |

The fact that you earn more for IELTS Examining in China than for IELTS Examining in the UK tells us something. Answers on a plain postcard please to the IELTS people ! |
