Hey to everyone I need some advice
I was recently looking for a partime job in the morning and against my judgement I went with an Agency. They have found me a decent job at a decent school......The owner of the school wants me to get a part time ARC which I also think is a good idea.......The Agency didnt....but of course! Also the owner doesnt want to go through the agency but is scared to break with them because she knows the owner......I signed a contract with the school...... But the agency also wants me to sign a contract with them..... they have also asked for a copy of my ARC and passport...............................
My question is what shoud I do?
I am planning just to tell the agency that I will not sign a contract with them because i am legally working with the school so that school has security knowing I am not going anywhere........
As for giving them a copy of my ARC and passport I am planning on saying that I dont feel comfortable and I dont think that it is legal which i know to be true.....................
Just curious If I could get anyone's feedback
Thnx |

You sound like a smart fish. I agree with your thoughts entirely. The agency doesn't need any of your details and nor should you give it to them. They will most likely tell you that this is the way things are always done and it is you who is being difficult. Don't accept this. You are on the right track so don't turn off. Tell them that you are not allowed to. Your embassy has strictly forbidded you to give them these details. There is nothing you can do about it. You signed a contract with the school.
Never sign with an agent nor recruiter nor consultant company. Schools can and do break off with agents so don't worry about it. Stand firm. Tell the school that you will work for them and not the agent. Do this and you will save yourself and whole bunch of headaches in the future. Which agent is it? |

If you are working in the morning it is probably an illegal job and any ARC would be illegal. As well as any contract you sign. |

Teaching any child under the age of six is illegal in Taiwan! Just because they have another English teacher there it does not mean that teacher is legal either.
Simply put, if you decide to work there you should check the address of your ARC. It may not match the real address of your school.
One reason I want to point this out is not to persuade you to work there or not. The reason is I don't really see any reason for you to pay taxes on work that you are doing illegally. |

So what has been the progress with your situation then? More problems with the agent? |
