I've recently become a registered teacher and I'm considering joining the PTU. I understand there are some perks to being a member i.e. discounts on electrical appliances, stationary and food stuff, medical services, publications, etc. which is great, but I wonder if there are obligations that would demand a lot of my time for example would I be required to attend meetings, help out with surveys, organize activities etc. ?? I'm afraid I won't have time for that. Any PTU member out there, would love to hear from you! Thanks. |

There are no obligations at all for being a member of the PTU. I have been a member for a number of years and have never done anything other than fill out the form each year and pay the fee. |
