As a technical writer whose sense of adventure has me considering a teaching position in Taiwan, I wanted to ask if any of you might comment on the availability of local technical writing opportunities.
(I should say that I'm referring to occasional paid opportunities to create technical documentation rather than full-time positions.)
My reason for inquiring is not so much to make money as it is to ensure career continuity. Said differently, it's far easier to justify a year or two away from the United States to a future employer seeking a technical writer if you are continuing to use your skills than if you are simply teaching during that time.
If any of you have information from personal experience or know where I might learn more, I'd appreciate the help.
Kind regards,
Rod |

Yes, there are advertizements for tech writers all the time in the local papers. Look also in the forums at www.segue.com.tw. It's shouldn't be too much trouble to find a tech writing position. |
