Yes, it is fast enough for using Skype with a webcam (256 Kbps is enough for that activity).
Speeds ranging from 64 Kbps to 10 Mbps are available in all the big cities. |

What about remote cities like Tabuk or Al Jouf in the north? |

Remember the 'A' in ADSL stands for asynchronous. If you have 512 Kbs down you'll only have 128 Kbs up.

With DSL the question is how far you are from the exchange. If the copper wire has to travel more than 5km then the odds are it will be intermittent or won't work at all. So it depends entirely on how far your house is from the nearest exchange, not where the city is.
Remember that the highest speeds only function very close to the exchange, but a 256 Mbs up/1024 Mbs down connection should work anywhere with the 5 km I referred to before. |
