Does anyone know if having a law degree would carry any weight with regards to landing an ESL teaching position in Latin America?

Need more info- What other qualifications do you have or are you thinking about getting?

I've worked with a couple of guys in Ecuador who have law degrees from the US. It's an interesting thing to have studied, but by itself doesn't make you a more marketable teacher. (I have teaching qualifications- wanna hire me as your lawyer?)

If you also have teaching qualifications, it could definitely help you into some niche markets like teaching legal English or language coaching for lawyers dealing with international cases- but without the teaching quals AND some time in country to make connections, this is hard stuff to land.

Best,
Justin
