It is time to send documents for a job in Kuwait. But I still am not sure if I want it. At what point in the process of getting a job is it too late to turn down the position? After I send them a copy of a passport and copies of degrees, etc, etc, can problems still be avoided if I later say I can't take the position? |

Once you're on the plane? I'd say that one can back out pretty easily any time up to boarding.
Any problems occurring would likely appear if you try to get a second job in Kuwait right now. Another country... no problem... (ethics, of course, is another question)

does sending copies of documents make you legally/contractually obligated to follow through? God no. Kuwait has 100 day probation period during which you or your employers can say 'buy, where's my ticket home or here's your ticket home' with no legal consequences. I can name a dozen people who went through that - no problems. AND you aren't even in this period yet - day 1 starts on your first paid day of work - read paid day of work - not productive day at work.
does backing out now or later hinder your chances of getting another job? not from what I have seen in over 15 continuous years in Kuwait. I take it you'll be professional enough to justify any departure. teachers have little problem sliding from and to major employers here with only a few particular exceptions
does sending copies of documents make you morally/ethically obligated to follow through? well, in my over 15 continuous years in Kuwait, I have not seen many people driven by their morals or ethics. |
