Those that are applying to work in Iraq, please note the following:

These jobs pay 149K however there is a medical caveat. Dyncorps will give you a medical requirement sheet and you will go and have your medicals done with your doctor. Even if your doctor finds you fit for employment, you will still have to pass a US military medical at Ft. Benning, GA or possibly some other fort.

There have been people who have been turned down and sent home just when they thought they were free to go to Iraq, and had quit their jobs, packed everything, and were already counting the money in advance. The military exam is far more rigid and takes into account many things that a regular ME employer would not count.

For example, one person had liver enzymes that were too high and could not produce any medical documents to document the abnormality. Other people had some other problems and did not pass it even though they'd passed the Dyncorps medical requirements and were cleared by the company.

Dyncorps seems to be a good company and they will do everything humanely possible to make you pass the military exam but you are not out in the clear until you do, so do not celebrate until you have been fully cleared by the US military at Ft Benning, and make contingency plans in case things do not work out.

So, these people have put things in storage and left their apartments and bingo, now they have to start things all over again.

Just a word to the wise.
