Here's my situation:
I singed a contract 4 weeks ago to teach at a uni' in China (uni A), or if they did not have enough students (uni B). After waiting for 4 weeks for confirmation for where I'd be working, both uni's fell through. They asked me if would consider teaching at (uni C), and I said I would CONSIDER it only. After not hearing anymore for a few days, I applied for other uni' positions. I accepted a position, with better pay, hours, and location, and a start date.
Now the original company said I shouldn't break their contract, and they have already sent my documents to (uni C).
I never accepted a position there, and they never sent me a new contract.
Doesn't this make the contract nul & void?

You have no contractual obligation to these people - they are trying to scare you into a position where you feel you have to take the job - imagine the kind of treatment you might get when actually started to work!!!!!!!!!

Employers/recruiters who treat an FT is such a sickening manner really should be outed here - they have made China EFL into a meat trade where the only concern is getting a live white body into a classroom!!!!!!

What documents have you sent these people - I do hope you've made the type of copy that can't be used to produce forgeries. I'm sure some recruiters would have no problem in selling their grandmothers for a packet of cigs - they'll surely find a use for a set of diplomas and other official documents

No original documents, just scans that can not be forged. Scanned copies delete the background writing, and when they are photocopied - photocopy apears on the transcript.

i would continue to "singe" (better yet, scorch) that original contract from uni A, a campfire would be a nice place to dispose of it.

Just happily move on to your new place of employment.

Waiting around for 4 weeks was a pain when other jobs were disappearing.

I take it that uni C hasn't asked uni B (or A for that matter) for that certificate which shows a new employer that you have worked somewhere previously.
If they haven't then they don't feel you have prior work history in China.
Go with uni C and don't give it another thought.
The Chinese are self exonerators and your situation is the result of someone sitting on his ass and not doing his/her job. The boss has given a 'please explain' and you are the scapegoat.
If C are as on the ball (a relative term) as you suggest, ask them to sort out A and B.
