|
So now I am settled happily in Vietnam with my full time contract and work permit.
The work permit says for some reason that I am a woman but other than that I think it's valid.
Anyway someone was telling me it's now cheaper and easier to get a VISA and others say that I should get it free from the company I work for. My work permit is valid for 3 years. My company paid for it. |

You should go back and get an attachment to verify that you're a man. Just precautionary, you might/might not be aware of how anal some VN can be over 1 little mistake.
Now that you've gotten the permit, it's transferable (sort-of) in case you decide to change jobs later. This will keep you from having to complete the whole process again.
Visa renewal should be in your contract. You could negotiate this later when you hit them up for a pay raise. |

Ok so should I expect my company to pay my VISA fees if I have a WP with their name on it. |

Well yes, of course! But if it's not in the contract, they're NOT obligated. |
