Hi,
I'm new to the forum and teaching overseas. I got my Bachelors degree and the TEFL certificate but has no experience teaching. I'd like to get a teaching job in Taiwan but am having a really hard time since I'm still living in California. I was wondering if anyone know of any good recruiting agencies that you can recommend. I'm currently signed up with Footprints but their listings to Taiwan is extremely short.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Jen |

Hi Jen,
Your best bet is to get your feet on the ground here. Recruiters have one purpose only: Get paid. The schools that use them - and I speak from personal experience - are more often than not, places you don't want to work.
If you do go through a recruiter - and it is possible you can find a nice school through them - continue looking on your own, and don't accept the first job offered to you unless they make an outstanding offer.
One recruiter I would recommend is reach-to-teach, but as always....
Caveat emptor. |
