Has anyone heard of this institute? I searched for reviews/opinions here and googled the place but I haven't had any luck. |

Yes, i know it.
I have met the consultant concerned. Her name is Chelsea Chan. She works from an office in downtown Guangzhou.
She is a friendly Chinese woman and does her best to place you in a job. She has reasonable connections in Guangdong, but
Be weary of her. After all it is her profession to place you in a job/ any job.
She is hoping to find naive foreigners and send them to remote places in Guangdong. Usually smaller towns with the occasional part-time work in more remote areas.
She will promise a city job, but after you arrive in the country/Guangzhou she will say there are some problems with that job, or that it is no longer available. This happened to a young woman (her first trip to China), who was sent to Huizhou (2 hours from Guangzhou). That's where i met the woman. She wasn't happy with the way she was treated.
She did place me in a reasonable job in downtown Guangzhou, at 200 per hour, teaching 7 - 14 year olds in a "zoo" kind of teaching environment, with inadequate air conditioning in a school called Ling Ge Feng.
If you want to work in a major city, like Guangzhou or Shenzhen, then insist to her that you will only work in a major city, and does she have something available now.
It helps if you are already in the country, and it's easier to find work once you are here, as most jobs are not on Eslcafe.

I too have been offered a position through Chelsea Chan. I have asked several questions which, it kind of seems, she has just ignored them...?? I have just emailed her again to see what she says, so we'll find out soon...
If you are taking the position Amy, let me know!! |
