I still can't understand how anybody can stand that place...
In my experience..Arabs from Egypt, Palestine, Morroco, Syria etc...despised the Saudis
They generally hate Americans, The British, The French, India in other words ..anyone who isn't them |

Why do you think they generally hate Americans and the British? Not only that, why do you think most of the developing nations hate America?
If America did, or is doing, something wrong (no doubt she did and is doing), why not apologize and ask for forgiveness, so that it will be liked by the developing nations!
Are you an American? Are you paying attention to what your government is doing overseas? All over the world, and in the middle-east in particular, the US government is pursuing a foreign policy that many people consider immoral. We have supported, trained and armed dictators, illegitimate governments and racist and brutal regimes. We have largely ignored the pain and suffering this has caused. - Jeff Kandt 2001). |

Dear 007,
I love it. When someone posts anything negative about Muslims (say, not fasting during Ramadan,) you quickly respond chastising (and rightly so) him/her for "generalizing,"
But you don't seem to have any compunction about justifying a "generalized hatred" of Americans:
"Why do you think they generally hate Americans and the British? Not only that, why do you think most of the developing nations hate America?"
Regards,
John |

Well, John, of course, I am not going to brush all Americans with the same brush.
There is a difference between hating America and hating Americans. If you check my last post, I asked this: why do you think most of the developing nations hate America?" . It is Le Petit Prince (little prince) who suggested that Saudis hate Americans in his post, and I asked him to give the reasons.
So, the problem is with the government of Uncle Sam and not with people of America! And this view is shared with some Americans (of course non-neo-conservatists ) as well, check what Jeff Kandt and others did write about why the world hate America! |

Dear 007,
"There is a difference between hating America and hating Americans."
Perhaps you missed my quote of YOUR post above:
"Why do you think they generally hate Americans and the British?"
Here's a suggestion: Instead of posting "hate America" or "hate Americans,"
why not write "hate America's foreign policy" instead?
Of course, the fact is that a a good Muslim, Christian or adherent of any faith shouldn't "hate" anyone.
Regards,
John |
