I have an MBA from Walden University, which is an online school, a BA in History from UConn and about 2 years experience teaching kids in Korea.
I'm not in Japan now and I don't have any connections there.
I think that if I got a University job in Korea, I'd be looking at something like 2.2 million won a month, housing, and 2-4 months vacation.
How does that compare to what I would be able to get in Japan?
I don't want to teach kids anymore but I would be open to teaching business English or something along those lines.

Are you asking whether you could get a university job in Japan? Very unlikely with those credentials.
If it's other types of teaching jobs you're interested in, you should realize that you're probably qualified for entry level only:
ALT through JET program or a dispatch agency (public schools mostly)
Eikaiwa instructor (could be kids and adults)
maybe a business English agency (it might depend on how much work experience you have to go with that MBA)
In most cases here, housing is not paid for, vacations for the entry level jobs amounts to a week in spring, a week during summer, a week to 10 days over winter, and maybe the dozen Monday national holidays.
Starting salaries will be in the range of 220,000 to 300,000 yen/month. Figure on the lower side of that range. |

Many people have argued that living in Japan is preferable to living to Korea, but making money is not one of the reasons why.
So, if money is your primary concern, you'd be better off in Korea. |
