I'm a recently qualified teacher and would like to work in Central/South America but I'm unsure as to the do's and don't do's when looking for a job.

For example, is it best to choose one country and concentrate on that, or simply to apply for jobs in ANY of the countries I would like to work in and see what comes my way?

I have a partner (not a teacher although she will want to find work once we arrive somewhere) that would like to come with me. Is this likely to cause many problems or is it all fairly simple?

Are there any obvious scams or organisations to watch out for (agencies and organisations requesting money to find me a job I understand are probably not a good idea!!)?

Basically, any info that would help and speed up the process of finding work would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you're looking for an intl school job, apply now, hiring starts now for schools that start in Mar.

I wuold look for a good job, the less popular countries, such as Guatemala are going to be easier to get an intl school job than places like Argentina. Apply accross the board and pick and choose once you get offers.

Your partner will NOT be able to get a visa. Common law marriages just aren't allowed here in Latin America, at least not that i know of. If she can geta visa on her own, that's one thing. She could also border hop.

Scams, paying to get a job
