Greetings. I'm a Canadian who will be working for a school in September in Istanbul. Is it ok for me to just get a one way ticket or are there documents (permits, etc) that the school will have to provide me so that I clear customs? Thanks. |

Yes you can.
However, feel free to check with Turkish Airlines or the Turkish Consulate in Toronto.

If you are entering with standard baggage you just come in on the tourist visa and the school will/should sort out work/residence permit for you. Or you will already have obtained the work permit before you leave your homeland.
However, if you are bringing all your possessions, or substantial amounts, I believe you need a minimum of 6 months still valid on your residence permit in order to clear customs. |
