I've been looking at flights for a Visa run and the cheapest ones I can find are about US $300 each way Macau or Busan, ouch!

Anyone have any ideas on cheap visa runs? I dont care where I go I just want to get my Visa stamped. Can I take a ferry to HK or to a small island Japanese island or something?

Also, are there any other cheap airlines I should check out besides airasia, chinair and dragon air?

Thanks for any advice you can share.

Matt

I had to do a visa run last month because of the lack of jobs here. The cheapest I could find was a round trip ticket from Taipei to Hong Kong for around 5,000 NT (U.S. $150) through Eva Air.

Find a friend who can speak chinese and have them call EZTRAVEL.
They can hook you up with a lower fare on EVA or China Airlines.
I think HK is the cheapest.

Wherever you decide to fly it would be worth dropping the TECO office in that city an e-mail or give them a call to make sure they're still issuing 60 day visas. We had a big problem in Manila back in March; apparently they were no longer issuing 60 day visas for tourism. Also it took them 3 days to process our 30 day.

May I ask how you are keeping your living expenses to the lowest by living in Taiwan while looking for a job? I'm thinking of doing that, but I'm not sure how long my saving would last me. How much is rent?

Thanks!
Kathy
