Hi,
I'm going to be doing my CELTA in January 2010 in Asia. I'm trying to find the most cost effective way of completing the course.
The cost for the course is generally $1,500 USD across the board. I'm trying to find a particular city to do the course where accommodation and living expenses will be the cheapest.
At this stage, Hanoi in Vietnam is probably my first choice, going by the research i've done so far.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

There was another thread running somewhere but I'll post again. In the
end it came down to the cost of the airticket and accommodation. Not a
great of difference between Vietnam and Thailand in price. |

Having been to Bangkok, Hanoi and Ho Chi Min City in recent months, I reckon HCMC is the cheapest place of the three to do your CELTA in terms of living costs. I did mine there last and spent $8/night on a decent hotel room. Paid $.60 for a good breakfast every morning, about $1.20 each for lunch and dinner.
I spent some time in Hanoi after my CELTA and found food and accommodation more expensive there.
In HCMC, you can do your CELTA with Apollo or ILA Vietnam.
Good luck. |

Are there not CELTA courses that include accommodations with the fee? |

If this option is available, you usually have to pay for your accommodation separately. The cheapest way would be to search for a cheap hotel by yourself. |
