|
|
Hello,
I am a teacher in Warsaw. I am in the process of making a webpage with a list of schools in Warsaw and the surounding areas. Here is the list that I have so far:

If you know of any other schools please reply to this post.
Thanks,

You might also include:
The British Council (very good)
Mike Mills' School (very good)
Resource (very good)
ACT (very good)
Metropilitan College (good)
Discordia (fairly good)
Lang LTC (fairly good)
Language for Business (sometines ok, sometimes not)
Target (not so good)
Teller (good in parts - is it still going?)
Warsaw Study Centre (not so good)
Native Speaker Agency (not at all good)
Didier School (the less said the better)
These are just suggestions from colleagues (at a school NOT on the above list - you mentioned it already) based on our own experiences.
The 'rankings' are obviously subjective (like the infamous Newsweek Rankings), but based on actual and direct experience (unlike Newsweek).
Any others? |

Don't suppose anyone could rate a few more of the schools, preferably at the good end? I'm planning on moving to Warsaw soon, and would like to get working somewhere good without losing too much money whilst looking.
I have a degree and CELTA, but no experience.
Also, is it easy to find a place to live at a reasonable price for just a few months? I may have to come back for the summer. |

Why Warsaw?
Possibly the 50% higher income and much wider range of employment opportunities. "Crakow" may have its factors, but it's not the exclusively attractive place in Poland |

Yeah, I get the impression there are more jobs available there, which I figured becomes more significant if you come half-way through the academic year. Plus I can cry home to mommy for 181zloty if it's not nice. |

Well as an American I can tell you that whatever stereotypes Poles have of you they usually just go by what you give them.
On the other hands there are some Poles who are very set in their ways and ocassionally someone may ask you why "you" signed away the Sudatenland and didn't invade on the Western Front when the Germans invaded in 1939.
Not to mention why "we" allowed Stalin to have the Eastern half of Poland. Which I suppose you can blame on the Americans , because for whatever reason they never blame the Russians who suffered the greatest number of losses in both world wars or the fact that the Americans were still fighting the Japanese, who were much deadlier force than the Germans.
On the other hand ESL teachers are also seen as a group of foreigners who are in Poland to have a good time, chase girls and drink beer. Which is partially true.
But don't let any of this get in your way. They are no differnt than people back at home, some you want to hang out with and some you just want to hang. |

while in america, camp america, new york state long island centre moriches which im sure u know two poles i amde freinds with 1 called boris the other prezemek asked why Britain neevr helped Poland. Put me on the spot there but thats simply because we couldnt. Dunkirk rings a bell. Anyway us brits were fighting in North Africa, UK battle of Britain anyway. When the yanks joined in, no offenc ehere, but the british army already had the jerries running out of Africa and USA basically came late n secured victory thouigh was to come anywya due to brits.
To be honest though Russia deserves a whole laod of credit as they lsot msot men by FAR.
Though what if Britain the battle of Britian and got invaded? |
