I have been offered a job at SIBME (Singapore Informatics & Business Management Education Company Ltd) in Ho Chi Minh City. Has anybody worked at this school or heard anything about it? |

Is this the one on Cong Hoa? If it is (all the schools starting to look the same to me), I had an interview there about 2 years ago and it is really professional looking inside. The coordinator asked me to come and work there in order to come and take care of a large discipline problem they were having. She described it as spoilt students who thought they were in charge and taking advantage of their current teacher. She had just taken over the role and was really eager to get the place running professionaly so that they could justify their fee structure. If she is still there she would be be a pleasure to work with, but that was a couple of years ago. I had just left Saigon Tech and was not interested in working with more spoilt students, so I stayed where I was. |

That director is long gone.
New director in charge.
Most instructors are hired for a couple of months, then new teachers are brought in after each terms ends. |

They want you to take control of the classroom and maintain a high standard. Students run the show and feel they should receive their degrees because they have paid for them. After you do everything they ask you to do, then a new teacher will be brought in to replace you so they can balance the demands of the students with their financial interests. Teachers are only marginally a part of the operation. Dannaa is absolutely right.
A good place to work for a few months, however. |

The students at SIBME failed the univeristy entrance exams.
SIBME offers education and training for these students who cannot get into Uni. But this is....a business. And what is posted above turns out to be the case more often than not, unfrotunately. |
