Hi everyone.
Maybe this is a stupid question but I'm booking my first ever flight to China where I will be teaching for a year. Some airlines won't let you book flights a year in advance. Do I have to book a one way there and another one way next year to come back? Are there any airlines that let you do a year long roundtrip? |

In my experience you can only buy a return ticket which is valid for 10 months. You then can extend it (at a price) for a further 3 months. You need to contact the airlines and see what they can do for you. |

If you have a Z or F visa, just enter on a one way, you'll be fine. Or, buy a one way to Japan, then refund it once you get there. |

I've done it both ways, but some airlines won't bring you in to a country on a one way. Check with the airlines directly.
Re the year long ticket.. if you are looking on-line, read all the rules of the fares. I mean really read them. Some will say things like 'good for travel 6 months from departure date' or 'all travel must be completed within 12 months of beginning travel' or 'changes can be made before travel commences' or 'change fees will apply to all changes'. Read the rules before you buy and find out if there is a change fee and how much it is.
Good luck to you. |
