CHEERS EVERYBODY.
I've been reading a lot about how NON CELTA/DEGREE holders can find ESL jobs in vietnam.
HOW MUCH HARDER IS IT FOR THESE TEACHERS (myself) TO GET A LEGAL WORK PERMIT???
LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR WISDOM IN THIS MATTER.
MANY MANY THANKS. |

It's pretty tricky - i.e. lots of paperwork and hoop jumping to get a work permit in VN with a CELTA or equiv. It's impossible without.
That said - It is possible and common to work without either work permit or qualifications though.
The visa rules are in flux at present, so some of the past common practice may well change. |

If you do not have an ESL teaching certificate and you do not have a degree, you are not getting a Work Permit. Period.
You might get a teaching job, but it will be short-term and low-wage, and if you are not a native English-speaker, it will be even more difficult to get any job at all.
You should consider this decision very carefully. |

If the school "likes" you and wants to get working permit for you, they can do for you, but your position will be TEACHER-ASSISTANT or smt like this. Most of the thing here is possible. |
