Best way is on foot if you're already here or get a copy of 'El Sol' or 'El Pulso' which have ads for places to rent. The closer you live to Carranza, the higher the rent will be. For example: small appartment in Carranza - $3500 a month at least. 10 minute walk into the centre and the same money will get you a 3/4 bedroom house! I know a few foreigners that live in the centre, I'll ask around but the best way to do it is probably on foot. |

You are in a city with a beautiful historic centre. Make friends with the people who work in the small businesses downtown or even canvas the businesses. There are a lot of little makeshift apartments with basic accomodation for a single person living alone.
Almost all these places are rented to someone they have seen in person, before they make the offer. Some of the older, bigger homes have been chopped up to make these apartments.
Ask about the tinaca and gas before you agree. You should get an efficiency, two-rooms with bath, starting at 1000 pesos a month. Often you can move in right away, paying each month up front. |
