excepted? what does that mean here?
Is it a joke carried on too long? Should you have put "excepted" in quotes?

OP is basically spamming in an attempt to have enough posts to get an avatar. He/She hopes it will make up for the spelling errors. |

Why am I getting the impression that the board has been invaded by three year olds? I know that you are all bored and frustrated waiting for visas, but... come on...

Better them attack each other than attacking the long-timers who were simply trying to provide advice...
I think...
I can predict a VERY poisonious environment in saudi's future...even more poisonious than the saudi's make it themselves...

I would like to give an explanation for my behaviour. NCTBA and VS I would never act out like this to you. I have been here in different renditions of the future and I know you guys and respect you. So I'm not a newcomer scraping it out with another newcomer. I have spellcheckers everywhere even on my word 2003 program. What I do not need or like are those petty comments of my credibility because of a typo or a blatant mistake in my grammar. I do not feel like I'm in some academia here and am certainly not writing a dissertation or a study on linguistics (That is coming later in my life porbably in 2010 for my MA thesis). Remember we are not here to pick on each other's faults and mistakes. I get a little internet rage (something like road rage) when I am confronted in a childish manner like that. That's my problem and I am trying to do something about it. Sometimes I wonder at the integrity of teachers on this forum and when they choose to attack and make remarks, that usually flares my temper (I'm a Taurus) and I write things that I regret and even get barred (in other renditions of the future). The fact that I am here this long without getting the boot is a miracle and evidence of my repentance. Please ACCEPT my apologies VS, NCTBA, Johnslat, Cleo, Scot47,007,Trap,and SJ you guys deserve better than that and I will just remain quiet from now on even if I'm right.
Deepest Regards.

OK... but now will you explain the meaning of your new screen name? It's almost as mysterious as mine.

Patience, guys and ladies, patience. It's one of the MOST essential qualities a person needs in the Kingdom.
Don't count to 10 - count to 1010.

How funny! I have never heard of the book, but what an idea... dreams altering reality. Now that is a scary thought. (mine too comes from a book title)
I had looked up 'lathe' and it really made no sense... thinking it some obscure Christian reference. But it was merely a mistranslation from the Chinese.

Dreams? Did someone mention dreams?
"To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?"
Some parts seem very appropriate for Saudi.
Regards,
John |

I was excepted from this group. I don't mean to pick on spelling, but excepted in this context applies to literally millions of teachers of the language.
Sorry. Not my intent to provoke internet rage. I understand the urge - I have it in connection with cars myself.
Finally I, too, am impressed with the screen name. |
